DataPipe - The Big Picture: 6 of 23

Why do you need EH&S Software?
Integration:
DataPipe will integrate multiple data collection systems throughout your organization – regardless of size. We often see organizations using a combination of various Excel documents, MS Access, native systems and even paper reports stored in manila in folders. Because various departments like to do it “their” way, we can sometimes see 10, 20 or even up to 50 different ways of collecting EH&S data throughout a large organization. Bringing these systems together into one integrated data management solution lets you manage and then use your information in a whole new way. Duplicate data entry is eliminated. Mistakes are few and far between (and where fields of information are validated, there are no mistakes at all), and reporting is vastly expanded and improved due to the ability to query over corporate-wide data, and not just a small slice.

Efficiency:
Improved efficiency comes from several areas. One of the main improvements comes from integration of multiple systems into one – much like two large competing companies merging. This eliminates costly duplication throughout the entire organization and, in this case, the data entry system. Improved efficiency also comes from the ease of use of submission forms and the ability for you to configure them the way you do business. Lastly, DataPipe’s ability to automate common tasks lets you spend time on the more important aspects of your position that require your attention.

Compliance:
Organizations are in a constant battle to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Lapses in these standards can lead to costly violations which may also have a lasting effect on public relations with the community. By integrating your EH&S data into one centralized database, you can now organize and manipulate your information more efficiently. By doing so, you can easily find problem areas by looking for trends in your data that will allow you to identify threats that could ultimately lead to injuries and violations. Seeing the problem before it happens saves time and money. Additionally, being able to compile your data into reports allows you to stay compliant with governmental and internal regulations as well as visualize, identify and mitigate risk.

Reduction:
Historically, reduction equates to cost savings. If your organization runs multiple systems to collect and manage EH&S data then, clearly, integration of those systems will reduce both overheard and staff costs over a number of departments and facilities. Savings do to reduction of compliance fines and accident cleanup, etc, can be significant. Additional savings are derived from workers comp loss reduction, plus the added revenue from increased productivity. Subtract the reduction in salaries involved in maintaining additional systems no longer needed and the reduction from compliance penalties and now you will start to see 2x - 4x ROI from the purchase of a DataPipe system. These numbers are based on actual client data that we have compiled for you in our Cost Benefit Analysis later in this document.

Adaptability:
A new way of thinking! We define adaptability as software that works your way! Why should you have to adapt your programs and processes to the way the software was built?  DataPipe was designed from the ground up with the customer’s processes in mind – not our vision of what we think it should be. As a result, all of our forms, while ready out of the box, are fully configurable to both look and function the way our customers want them to – and for most changes, these configurations can be done by the customer using the aforementioned point-and-click interface. You CAN have it both ways! A system that works NOW and a system that will continually grow with your business. In terms of customer input, we have spent the last 30 years listening to what our customers wanted and have made changes to the system based on decades of questions, comments and suggestions. Our customers’ input is the most important part of the process.

Examples of items on the form that can be changed, by you, with our simple point-and-click interface (meaning you do not have to come back to us for costly changes!).

all the labels on all the forms in one press of a button.
- You decide whether a field should be required or not
- Simply move fields around the form
- Easily hide fields when you don’t want them used
- Feel free to add fields to any form using our Items™ or our hidden extra fields
- Quickly change what appears in a drop-down list
- Add a validated look-up to any plain text field
- Simplify your end-user experience by adding a hover tool tip to any field
- Automate using condition based triggers to any field or form
- Help guide your end users with color on forms
- You choose your fonts, colors and text size
- Change the language that appears on forms for your foreign users.

- And that’s just the beginning!
