Automate communication of important events. An example is to send an email to inform supervisors when an injury record has been added or the severity modified.

Validate records or fields through custom checks and balances. Custom validation is built into the DataPipe Form Designer as well.

Automate recordkeeping:
Based on the input in one form, related records could be created automatically. For example, in a General Incident record, if an Injury/Illness type is selected for this incident, DataPipe can automatically generate records in the Injury and Illness module for each of the involved employees.  This saves time required for data entry and improves accuracy.

Interact with other applications like Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word. This allows you to generate reports that meet your business rules and are formatted according to your presentation standards.

Provide on-screen data summaries; Reports can be used to accumulate records for an entity (person, facility, vehicle, etc) and present a concise summary to the user. For example, you can show all injuries involving a specific person within a date range.

An advanced report can also interact with and update web pages to present to your employees on the corporate intranet.

External processes – integration with external data sources:
These are programs that run on a scheduler. When they are activated, they can run without human interaction. Common examples of External Process applications include:

Automate the sharing of data between DataPipe and other sources (e.g.; HR databases or instruments, etc.) If you receive a regular data feed from an outside source and need it integrated into your DataPipe system, external processes can perform the task, sending status reports as required.

Provide regular reports to responsible persons. External reports can provide formatted reports and email them to personnel. Example applications could be a monthly list of employees requiring training, a weekly list of new Injuries or Illnesses, etc.
