The History of Knorr Associates Inc. (1979-2010)
Founded in 1979,
Knorr Associates Inc. was
one of the first companies (world-wide) to provide
EH&S
computing solutions. In the 1980s, the company developed
computer interfaces for industrial hygiene instruments to
speak with databases and then offered its first
multi-user, modular Environment & Waste Management,
Occupational Health & Medical Records and Safety
& Industrial Hygiene software program based on the UNIX operating system (this
was the first incarnation of DataPipe). It used an
enhanced PC as a server with “dumb terminals” as
workstations. Now in our 31 years of
environment, health and safety software development, we continued to enhance,
improve and add-on to what is now our globally well known,
fully integrated and very powerful,

Recent Module
Additions: Adding to the arsenal of more than 100
modules covering all areas of EHS, Knorr Associates has
recently released the “WORKFLOW” module. Work flow allows
for defining steps for reviewing information, processing
business rules, making notifications (e.g., e-mail),
controlling who may edit the record and finally locking
the record against future edits. Encrypted electronic
signatures are attached to workflow records.

Knorr Associates showcased the latest version of
